Washington, DC, July 28, 2024, (Silke Endress) – Dr. Tauheed Burke and the Succeed Anyway team display of excellence, fashion and artistry at the inaugural DMV Awards & Fashion Show, a marquee event hosted at the Morrow Hotel, was second to none. The brainchild, producer and visionary Tauheed Burke and co-producer Damon Scott, curated a show, demonstrative of their commitment and creativity, bringing together the crème de la crème of the DMV region.

Succeed Anyway Collection

The event kicked off with a red carpet, setting the stage for the night’s festivities. The exclusive VIP lounge offered an open bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres, guaranteeing that the evening started in high spirits.

Live music, a cello and singer, set a vibrant tone, providing a perfect backdrop for lively conversations and networking among the Who’s Who of the Maryland/DC metro area.

 

When the doors opened, the runway lights dimmed and the show began, the audience was treated to a parade of fashion that was nothing short of masterful.

Host D Scott guided the Fashion Show Scenes, showcasing designers such as Earle Bannister, XClash The Brand, Ranti Exclusive, MTS by Design, Hardcore Glam, D’Marsh Couture, Blue Topaz Swimwear, Symar, Vanya, and Timmy Ajulo, closing out with Tygerian Lace and Miguel Wilson. 

Each designer presented collections that were dynamic, creative, and a true celebration of Black couture. The runway was graced with garments that exuded innovation, elegance and culture, showcasing the immense talent and vision of the individual designers.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Succeed Anyway collection. The collection was an intersection of resilience and ambition; it’s transformative for the bold and fearless; exuding an energy that inspires and empowers; elevating lifestyles to the next level.

In an unprecedented show of unity and empowerment, over 40,000 Black women came together on a conference call, demonstrating their unwavering support for Vice President Kamala Harris. The virtual gathering followed President Joe Biden’s resounding endorsement of Harris, positioning her as a front-runner in the upcoming presidential race.

Within hours of this historic meeting, the coalition of Black women raised over $1,000,000 to back Harris’s campaign, showcasing the power and influence of Black women in American politics. This remarkable feat wasn’t just about fundraising; it was a testament to the collective strength and solidarity of a diverse group of women determined to make a difference.

The attendees represented a wide array of professions and backgrounds, each bringing their unique perspectives and expertise to the table. Among them were congresswomen, media pundits, corporate CEOs, entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, mayors, senators, governors, clergy members, associations, organizations, small business owners, and the housewives. Their participation underscored a common belief: Kamala Harris is not only a qualified candidate but also a beacon of hope and progress for the future of the United States.
